Queensland, Australia This very large display specimen of boulder opal exhibits vivid stripes of electric blue, green, orange and yellow in a thick seam across the face. Veins of opal within the "cracks" of the ironstone can be seen as evidence of the mineral rich waters having seeped through the clay which then hardened to ironstone.
