Consider this extremely rare vintage signed Steuben Great Pumpkin ornamental sculpture. Perfect for your home décor or set amid vegetables at your table or buffet. A large pumpkin shape is formed of rippled Steuben formula glass and fully signed "Steuben" in the polished pontil on the bottom.

This is the largest hand made Steuben pumpkin design. In the late 1960's and early 1970's Steuben made a few "GREAT" oversized figurines including the Great Whale, Great Koala, Great Polar Bear, Great Snail, Great Dolphin, Great Owl and Great Turtle. These largest sculptures were only made for a brief period and so they are quite rare. 9" wide by 5" high with the beautiful clarity and refraction of light that Steuben was renown for. Made in the USA Corning NY Steuben Glassworks of original formula Steuben glass.

This will be packed in it's fine vintage Steuben box and flannel bag with Steuben care booklet. After 108 years in business Steuben closed in 2011 making it very hard to find authentic gift worthy pieces. Any products currently being made under the Steuben label are being imported from Portugal and Germany. And are not made of the special optically pure formula glass since the USA glassworks and melting kilns were dismantled in 2012.
