Antique Enameled Napoleon Portrait Patch Snuff Pressed Glass Crystal Box

French Enamel Napoleon Portrait Patch Box. Fine early French enameled patch or snuff box.

The lid is finely decorated with a portrait of Napoleon in military dress and rests on a round pressed glass crystal box. The inside of the lid is fitted with a mirror and was most likely used to hold beauty marks for fashionable women (and sometimes men) who wanted to emphasize their beauty. 1 5/8"diameter at the rim; 1 1/4" high.

This little box is in nice condition considering age. The brass mounting shows some tarnishing.
