Huge Golden Calcite & Sphalerite Specimen in Two Pieces (9.68lb, 6.72lb) 16.40lb. Description: Huge Golden Calcite & Sphalerite Specimen in Two Pieces (9.68lb, 6.72lb) 16.40lb. Weights are according to our scale and may be slightly imprecise.
The piece with the most calcite is 9.68 pounds, with the mostly sphalerite piece being 6.72 pounds. Total weight for both pieces: 16.40 pounds. In the past these were one piece, but it was broken into the pieces you see in the photos. Attempts to fit them together in the original configuration have been in vain.
The following measurements were taken by hand. Calcite piece: 24cm long, 18cm wide, 14.5cm high. Sphalerite piece: 17cm long, 16.5cm wide, 6.5cm high. The standard stick of gum (7.5cm) in the second photo is there for size reference (not included). We do not have any information on the origin of this specimen.
These pieces have been stored unprotected in a warehouse and there are areas of scuffing and scratches on the crystals and the sphalerite. Not all of these areas can be seen in the photos. See photo 7 for an example.
Includes Two pieces of calcite and sphalerite as shown. Package Condition: No Retail Packaging. NPS will combine up to 10 items on a single invoice.
